» Geotechnical Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Civil engineering typically requires the application of a general knowledge
of the physical sciences and mathematics underlying engineering, and specialized
knowledge of the mechanics of solids (particularly of soils), hydraulics, theory
or structure, strength of materials, engineering geology and surveying. Duties
will be assigned to meet business needs, including the following:
- Preparing and writing proposals for geotechnical investigations.
- Preparing and writing reports of findings for geotechnical investigations.
- Planning, designing and monitoring projects for geotechnical investigations.
- Monitoring and planning field and laboratory geotechnical studies.
- Analyzing field and laboratory test data.
- Making recommendations based on analysis of testing results.
- Serving as technical consultant for clients.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or closely related
engineering degree from an accredited college, university or technical
school. Master’s degree in civil engineering preferred. Two years of
related experience strongly preferred.
